When Jesus becomes more successful than John, he walks away.

John 4:1-3

WENT AWAY (565) in Greek means to depart, to go, to back out, to go aside. (Hebrew Greek keyword study Bible)

This is the exact opposite of what I would naturally want to do. I think we all want people to like us, and many times we do everything we can in order to achieve popularity.

But Jesus does the exact opposite: as he grows in popularity he withdraws.

I think one of the reasons he did this is because he was more committed to the will of God than he was public opinion. It’s a lesson that we all can learn from in our own walks with Jesus.

➡️➡️ So I’m asking myself, am I more committed to people‘s perception of me or following the will of God with all my heart? ⬅️⬅️

I pray it’s the later. ❤️

What does this mean for us as believers to have an unlimited amount of the Holy Spirit? I want to take us to Acts chapter 1 and talk through who the Holy Spirit is and how he helps us in our walk with God.

Holy Spirit (4151) in Greek is joined with the Father and Son as equal; Oneness. Coming to and acting upon Christians, illuminating and empowering them, remaining with them, imparting to them, spiritual knowledge, aid, consolation, sanctification, and making intercession with and for them.

When Jesus says you’ll receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you in Acts 1:8 that word POWER (1411) in Greek means specifically miraculous power, ability, abundance, meaning, and might, wonder.

REJOICE or REJECT?????

We’re in John 3 and I keep thinking about why I don’t rejoice with others. (Rejoice (5463) in Greek is to be glad, cheerful, happy or well-off)

➡️ Here’s some thoughts⬅️
Sometimes the reason we don’t rejoice with people when God begins to increase in their lives—or when he does the miraculous in their lives—is because honestly, we are jealous of them.

We tend to be afraid that if God does something for someone else, especially something that we’ve been praying for him to do in our own lives, that he may not have enough power to do the miraculous in our lives too. ➡️ That is a scarcity mindset.

💛 I love that John is so rooted, and who God is, and what God has called him to do, that his life, his words and his message continually point people to Jesus with JOY. He’s not afraid of missing out. ⬅️

⬇️
His relationship with God is the reward. He knows that the main goal isn’t to gain followers for himself, but to allow others to experience the life that only Jesus can give. That’s an abundance mindset.

Relationally. Powerfully. Purposefully. Miraculously. Lovingly. Mercifully. Goodness-wise. And more =
IN ALL OF IT, GOD HAS MORE THAN ENOUGH FOR YOU and for others.

Whether you’re actively pursuing a goal or dream—or whether something has happened in your life that you can’t control, I want to remind you that God is in control of both.

For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”

The Greatest Love Story Ever Told.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

Believe (4100) in Greek means to be firmly persuaded as to something, to believe with the idea of Hope and certain expectation.

Life (2222) in Greek means both physical and eternal life.

Everlasting (166) in Greek means perpetual, with no beginning and no end, backwards and forwards, eternal.

The act of love and gift of salvation that Jesus Christ gives us as believers is the GREATEST GIFT EVER GIVEN. Through this gift we have eternal life in heaven, as believers yes. BUT the life Christ wants to give also IMPACTS our present here on earth—and stretches into our past redeeming that too. It’s the kind of life that affects every part of our lives.

This is the greatest gift of love the world has ever known.

I can’t believe you’re 20 already.

I prayed for you on my long run this morning. For this next decade, prayers of becoming:

That you would continue to grow in intimacy with God.
That you would experience His love for you first hand.
That you would sense His delight in you and you would delight in Him.
That He would mold and shape your character along the way.
That you would be a woman of faith, hope and love for your life and the lives of others.
That you would know how valuable and precious you are to God and others.
That you’d know the joy of following Him and learn to walk in obedience toward God.
That the fruits of the Spirit would bubble over in your life.
That you would be guided by His peace.
That you would discern His voice.
That you would have an unshakable confidence in Him.
That fear would slip away and faith in Him would remain—because He orchestrates it all.
That you’d see how beautiful you are inside and out.
For your husband, that he would be a man after God’s heart.
For your friendships that they would champion you towards God’s best in love, and that you would do the same for them.
That you would enjoy every moment walking with Him, the ups, downs and in-betweens — He is in it all with you.

The truth of God always leads to life.

Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”

In John 3, we see Nicodemus, approaching Jesus and calling him Rabbi.

Rabbi in the original Greek means master or a title of honor.

Even though Nicodemus was a member of the religious elite in society and was probably a teacher and scholar towards his community, he’s still approaches Jesus and wants to learn from Him.

Why? He starting to recognize who Jesus is, and he was hungry for truth and willing to grow.

I love this about Nicodemus‘s life. I always want to be teachable and humble enough to grow.

THOUGHT #1 // Jesus, just keeps getting better! When we invite him into the every situation of our lives, he always turns ordinary things into miraculous moments. Whether it’s miraculous on the outside or divine transformation on the inside—Either way we’re constantly changing.

QUESTION #1 // Are there areas of your life where you are settling for old water that Jesus wants to miraculously turn into wine? Sometimes I settle for less than God‘s best because I never want to surrender that thing to Jesus. But it’s in the surrendering, and following him obediently, that he takes the mundane and makes it miraculous.

Life advice from John 2:5 // “His mother said to the servants, ‘Whatever He says to you, do it.’”

If I could just live this fully: Whatever God says to you, DO IT! // My life would change dramatically.

I’m sure the servants don’t understand why the had to fill the pots with water // and with each pot they needed 20 to 30 gallons of water // that’s a lot of work, but the did it anyway. And in the end Jesus does an amazing miracle.

Don’t let your reasoning keep you from obedience.

You never know what’s on the other side of simply trusting and following Jesus. ❤️

This is how it always starts.

First with God. I need His guidance more than anything else. To take me places I’ve never journeyed before. To have His heart, His thoughts, His delight.

Then finding a space with a window, my Bible, lots of sticky notes and a hot cup of tea—even if that space looks like a resale shop because carpet is being put in upstairs and everything from our closets now has a home in our dining room and living room. It’s still my secret place, a sacred space with God. It’s the place that no one else really sees.

I used to wait for the PERFECT moment to begin, now, with Gods guidance, I begin even though my surroundings or circumstances may be less than ideal.

God never said our obedience could be dependent on perfection — He just says “Follow Me.”

LEADERS, MENTORS, TEACHERS, PASTORS, PARENTS, FRIENDS // Question:

➡️ ARE YOU TRANSFERRING LOYALTY TO JESUS? ⬅️

This is a question God has had to deal with me about over the years in every season.

It’s a hard question to ask ourselves as leaders because we love people, especially the people that we’ve invested time and energy into.

But ultimately our role as leaders or mentors is to transfer loyalty to Jesus. To create disciples who know Jesus‘s voice and follow Him obediently.

We can be an encouragement and bring wisdom along the journey, but ultimately we want to champion people towards full obedience to Christ, even when that cost us something.

The minute we start putting stipulations on their obedience to God, it’s a red flag that maybe we are out of alignment with Him.

Lesson from John: Let’s ask the Holy Spirit to help us champion intimacy and obedience to Christ in the lives of those around us.

GEEK OUT MOMENT // The significance of a sandal strap! AND location of John 1:29

When John says that he’s not worthy enough to even loosen Jesus’s sandal strap in verse 27 of John chapter 1, what you may not know is that this was the duty of the loneliest slave before footwashing. Many rabbi during this time in history abused their disciple teacher relationship, but even the worst rabbi wouldn’t require this of their disciple because it was too low of a task. Another really cool thing is that this conversation takes place where Joshua and the children of Israel entered into the promised land. What’s really neat is that Jesus comes on the scene and John is transferring loyalty to Jesus in this significant location.

They don’t know this yet, but the people were about to cross over into a greater promise from God through Jesus. John says in this moment, “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (Vs. 29) They are about to enter into a new position of promise with Jesus and their lives will never be the same—a new spiritual promise land.

Are there multiple “truths” that lead to the same destination? The Bible would say, no, there’s one truth, one way found in Jesus. (“I am the way, the truth and the life..” John 14:6).

And before you get upset at the Bible for this concept, just know that God gives us the truth because He LOVES us so much. It’s like those times where I have to tell my kids the truth, even if they don’t want to hear it in the moment—in the end I care about them so much I can’t hide the truth. Why would God sugarcoat truth when He knows in the end the truth will set us free? (John 8:32)

And for those of us who call ourselves Christians, remember truth doesn’t excuse us from LOVE. Love needs to walk hand in hand with truth, otherwise it will touch no one’s life—and it looses its impact (1 Corinthians 13).

CHRISTIANITY // Christianity believes in a personal, relational God revealed to us all through the Trinity (God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit)—Meaning that we can have a relationship with God and God deeply desires to have a relationship with us.

Another truth that can change your life no matter who you are.

I want to talk about 3 WORDS from this passage that I think will help enlarge our understanding of it!

#️⃣ First of all this word DWELT (4637) in the original Greek means to encamp, occupy, or reside. It’s a word that’s represents the temple in the Old Testament, which was a symbol of God’s protection and communion with his people.

#️⃣ The second word I want to talk about is this word TRUTH (225) which in Greek means purity from all error or falsehood.

➡️➡️➡️ The last word I want to talk about is this word GRACE (5485) *****SLOW DOWN AS YOU READ THIS ONE TO REALLY DIGEST IT****** in Greek grace is spoken of the grace, favor and goodwill of God & Christ as exercised towards man—where GRACE is joined with PEACE and MERCY, including the idea of every kind of favor, blessing, and good as proceeding from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. ⬅️⬅️

This is not just letting your bad things slide by in the eyes of God, but God‘s active pursuit of you with his favor.

This is not just letting your bad things slide by in the eyes of God, but God‘s active pursuit of you with his favor.

It’s not just enough to BELIEVE that Jesus is the Savior of the world, the Son of God or that the Bible is true. That doesn’t make us a Christ follower.

We need to BELIEVE and RECEIVE, meaning we believe all those things are true AND receive God into our heart and life, making Him Lord of it all. Meaning, whatever He says goes.

I cried today. Pulling back the veil into my day today.

It might be silly, but I think God still cares.

The third house that we liked fell through. An offer was accepted on it. See, I’ve always wanted to live on some land and have a Mountain View. And this home needed a lot of work, but we were willing to do it. My heart loved that baby house, but God knows.

As I cried before the Lord I realized a couple of things:

1. Each closed door has prepared us for what’s to come. We have a great agent, made some updates to our current home and have found a wonderful contractor that we adore for our future home. The no’s have given us the time needed to prep for when God does open a door.

2. We know what we want. The process has given me time to think with God about who I am, who we are, and what we want. I’ve always had a tender spot for restoring or renovating old homes and a dream to build our own home either through renovation or from scratch. I don’t need a huge space, a ranch with an office and main bedroom. I would love land and a Mountain View, a place to our family and ducks — and EQUALLY IMPORTANT is being able to be a blessing to others, both through our finances and by creating a guest space on our property for people to come and be blessed. A safe place to meet with Jesus, spend time with friends, to write books, and record podcasts all in an inspiring environment that feels like a retreat. Our gift to others.

In tears I wrote this in my journal. Knowing that God cares even about this. And overwhelmingly full of gratitude for where He has us right now.

As I Hugged my daughter in the kitchen, I opened the trash can and this note was on top.

It reminded me of how good God is, how we can ridiculously DREAM and that He is a God who still did miracles today.

I’m going to post this to remember this day. Someday I’ll look back and be thankful for every closed door, reminding myself once again of His goodness.

My faith was encouraged by a note in the trash… only God. And thanks @grace_klusacek for the reminder.

Let’s talk about how one verse in scripture can literally transform your life.

We are in John 1:12 that says, “But as many as received him, them he gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in his name.”

The first word that stuck out to me in this verse is the word right.

RIGHT (1849) in Greek means: authority, power, right, privilege, as well as—— liberty, Freedom, capacity, and competency.

Think about that. God gives us the CAPACITY and the COMPETENCY to become His children. That’s AMAZING!!!!!!!!

➡️This means that God doesn’t just “call” us his children, but he gives us the ability to live it out through the power of the Holy Spirit.

This is a transformation truth. I am going to carry with me throughout my 2026!!
