The Master Architect

Jeremiah 29:11. It’s a life verse for me. From the moment I read this verse years ago, I highlighted it, circled it, colored it and wrote it in my journal. I copied it on papers, wrote it on my school folders and I’m pretty sure it’s hanging inside my kitchen cabinet right now. Every time I use or put away a dish, there it is to remind me, and that happens often!

Here’s the verse: “For I know the plans I have for you—this is the Lord’s declaration—plans for your well-being, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” God has a plan. I pray that this verse sinks deep into your heart. I pray it is a verse you can stand on in the years to come. I pray that walls crumble in your heart and mind as you embrace this truth. I pray you have the ability to take God at His word. He has a plan for YOU.

It’s not just a thought, it’s a plan. A plan is defined by Merriam-Webster as

“a method of achieving an end; a detailed formulation of a program of action; to have in mind; to have a specific intention.”

It’s as if God is the chief architect of your life. Have you ever seen an architectural drawing? It does not resemble my six-year-old’s drawing of a house with curved walls and undistinguishable attributes.

God’s drawing is detailed and thorough. It’s specific and beautiful. It’s complete as-is without us adding or taking away from it, and each aspect is necessary.

It’s not just any plan; it’s a plan for your good and not for evil, to give you the future you hope for. God is weaving every situation, every person, every circumstance together to accomplish His plan for your life.

Be reminded that God’s plans for your life are good and not evil. Many times, we try to separate the different parts of His plan for our lives away from their whole. We want to scrap the things we don’t like and add things we do, but God is saying,

“Every part is needed and will work toward the hope that I have for you.” Be reminded today that as you accept His plan, He will work it into the future you hope for."
