I've gotta keep going on details of what it meant to be a leper, in order for us to understand the depth of this mans healing.
According to Jewish law and customs you had to keep 6 feet away from a leper. If the wind was blowing towards a person from the leper you had to keep 150 feet away from the leper.
That's not all...
In the middle ages if a man became a leper a priest would bring the man to the church and read his burial service over him while he was living. (Barclay)
And as we talked about yesterday this disease lasted 20 to 30 years.
Can you IMAGINE not being touched for 20 years? Being treated as dead, even though you were living? Think of not just the physical illness, but the emotional wounds you would carry.
But even that is no match for the God that we know and love.
You may think your situation is hopeless, but nothing is impossible with God.
