There's something that happens when we gather together to seek the face of God. I can't explain it. The corporate voices lifted in unison shouting our faith-filled anthems of praise. The power of His word to speak to every situation and circumstance we are facing. Our spirits lifted. Our hearts united. Our hope-tanks filled. The things that once used to bother us don't seem that important when we are standing in God's presence together.
We need each other. We are stronger together. We need people we can do life with. People who will run us dinner when we have a sick kid. People we can make memories with in the good times and help us laugh in the bad. People who will stand with us on the mountain top or hold our hand through the valley, reminding us of who God is. As my friend likes to say:
"People who will sing God's song over you, when you've forgotten the lyrics and melody (Jamie paraphrase)."
I'm excited this week to be at our church's annual Flourish Conference in Lone Tree, CO. This is always a special moment between Jesus and I. In fact, I prepare for it as if I am going on a date with God. Just Him and I sharing special moments together. I come for an audience of One, yet He speaks to the multitude—He's just that loving.
I want to encourage you to find your tribe. I have people across the nation that I talk with often and are best friends in my life, but I also have people who I can do life with daily. I think you need both. Remember to be open. Be vulnerable. Spend time together just because you can. Find a great church where you can worship God together and hear the word taught. Start somewhere.
"God has a rich fulfilling life promised to you. Friendship only make it that much sweeter."
