We hear of Jesus marveling two times in the gospels.
The first time Jesus marvels is here in Matthew 8:10 with this Roman gentile, where Jesus is marveling "at his faith to believe." Basically he believes that Jesus can simply say the word and his servant will be healed.
The second time Jesus marvels is in Mark 6 at the "lack of faith" in his own hometown. In this instance there weren't many miracle done in this place.
So I guess I'm asking myself from this passage, what is Jesus going to marvel at in my life?
Will He marvel at the "faith" (4102) that I have in Him?
In Greek this word means: moral persuasion, conviction, especially reliance upon Christ for salvation. Trust, grounded confidence. Resulting in the transofrmation of man's character through Christ.
Or will Jesus marvel at my "lack of faith" in Him?
I don't know about you, but I want to live a life that fully trusts and has confidence in God. Not just for the "one time decision to follow Christ through salvation" but a continual faith for the process of transformation God wants to do in my life.
